The Nicoya Peninsula alone has over 300 species of birds, an interesting combination of resident species and migratory species. Every day at low tide there are many wonderful tide pools that you can explore on the beach near our hotel, Blue Surf Sanctuary. You can relax in these awesome hot water pools or spend your time looking for treasures in magical rock enclaves. Many fish, crabs, lobsters, and shells can be found in the calm and clear water tide pools, and you can spend hours having fun searching for and exploring beautiful and unique shells and small ocean life!

Montezuma Waterfalls
Hike and explore Costa Rica by taking a day trip to the Montezuma Waterfalls in Santa Teresa. Hike in the jungle and see three spectacular waterfalls. This is an all day trip, and you can either rent ATV’s or a car to get there. Once you arrive prepare to take a hike to each waterfall where you will most likely see locals jumping and diving from rocks above the falls. While staying with us at Blue Surf Sanctuary you can rent ATV’s or Quads to get around the area. Take your ATV or Quad through the jungle, to certain excursions we offer, and around town! If you don’t drive to us this is a great way to get around and have a blast while doing so.
